My Bike - Fully adapted 2008 Yamaha R6
Adapting my motorcycle was easier than I thought it would be.
The first hurdle was figuring out how to shift without use of your toes. The solution to this was a Translogic Intellishift quick shifter and autoblip module, and a Klicktronic push button shift solenoid. This allows for wide open throttle upshifts and seamless clutchless downshifts, removing your feet and clutch from the equation.
Next hurdle was how to keep my feet on the bike. Professional para racer Ulla Kulju sent me a set of 3D printed magnetic foot pegs that she designed to keep your feet from slipping off the rear sets. A cool feature of the pegs is they are designed to break and release you from the bike in the event of a crash. A simple velcro cinch strap keep my legs against the tank of the bike.
I had to do a suspension overhaul and my forks were rebuilt and resprung courtesy of Metric Devil Moto in Pennsylvania.
After that I fit the bike with a set of race fairings and it was ready for the track.
